Thondwe, Malawi … In this political season in the U.S. the candidates often create concern with the question,
“Who would you rather have answering the phone in the White House at 3 AM?”
We aren’t trying to get involved in answering that question! Who knows the answer until that time comes. BUT, what we are trying to bring attention to cause you to consider what it would be like to be the Director of Operations at the warehouse in Malawi, and have the phone ring in the middle of the night from people saying their village is out of food, and they can’t wait long for help. I guess the answer is you want a warehouse full of food when that calls comes. It there is plenty of food then the person at the other end of the line can give a good answer, no matter who it is. It’s important to be able to give a positive answer, more than who is at the end of the phone line.
