Lilongwe, Malawi … It’s Saturday and in some many parts of the world teens are getting into trouble. No so with this group from the Area 47 church in Lilongwe. They are spending their day sorting clothes at the Action for Progress distribution center to be distributed to the poor. AfP received the clothes along with many other donated items and will handle distribution of the materials to the poor all over Malawi. It is a part of a major program overseen and managed by the staff and management of Action for Progress, a non-profit, Malawi governed group of Christians.
According to Wilson Tembo, the Executive Director for Action for Progress, “These teens see the value and importance of doing this work. Rather than just telling them, we find the lesson goes much farther when they come out and do the work. In this way they know much better the importance of helping others.”
