Wheatland, Indiana … A shipment of Personal Energy Transportation carts recently departed northern Indiana destined for Malawi. These are the first units of their kind to be distributed through the Malawi Project, and has been made possible by Mobility Worldwide Inc. (formerly PET) http://mobilityworldwide.org/affiliates/indiana-demotte/
Over the years the Malawi Project’s medical/mobility programs have resulted in the distribution of approximately 4,000 wheelchairs and a large number of walkers, canes and other supplies for those who are mobililty challenged. Distribution of these supplies has taken place in all three regions, and every district of Malawi. The personal mobility units will be the first of their kind distributed through the Project and will be an added value for mobility challenged Malawians who need a different form of transportation from the wheelchair program that continues to offer great value especially in rural and hard to reach places in the country.
