Lebanon, Indiana … Girls from Teen Challenge and women from the Lebanon Church of Christ joined members of the Malawi Project to prepare clothing for people in the tiny African nation of Malawi.
Malawi is one of the poorest nations on earth, and the Malawi Project, a faith-based organization serving the poor of Malawi, Central Africa recently moved operations from Indianapolis to Lebanon. Suzi Stephens, a co-founder and Medical Director of the Project notes,
“The reception we have received in the Lebanon community has been very exciting and totally unexpected. So many people are becoming involved in helping Malawi, and the interest level is exceptionally high. The involvement of girls from Teen Challenge and the women’s group from the Lebanon Church of Christ is one example of the desire of people here to help others. We are quite excited with the reception the Project has received in Boone County,” Stephens said. “Our next project will be the preparation of baby packs for expectant Malawi mothers. We anticipate a sizeable amount of community support in this project as well.”
