Lebanon, Indiana … Rain clouds threatened the loading process from the west, yet the moisture held off as another shipment of supplies was prepared for Malawi. Billie Smith, and his team from Lebanon filled the container right up to the back door with medical, agricultural, educational, and religious supplies. Included in the shipment:
- Churches in Malawi will enjoy padded pews, thanks to the Lebanon Church of Christ who donated 4 – 15-foot pews.
- Malawi hospitals will receive badly needed medical equipment and supplies, thanks to a donation by businessman Ralph Captain of Blue Creek, Ohio.
- Churches and community groups prepared and donated a large number of maternity packs for expectant mothers, and village farmers will be able to offset famine with over 2,000 drip irrigation systems.
- Malawi schools will receive textbook and library books, thanks to donations from Boone County public schools.
- Hundreds of Malawi village people will receive brand new shoes, still in their original boxes, thanks to donations from the Walmart Corporation.
- Hospitals and schools will receive chairs, overbed tables, monitoring equipment, and everyday supplies that are always short of supplies for patient care.
Thanks to the churches, schools, civic organizations, individuals, businesses and the community of Lebanon who made this shipment possible, and thanks to World Emergency Relief of San Dimas, California for the needed funding to make this shipment possible.
