Lilongwe, Malawi … After several delays, due to cost increases, and other projects taking a high priority, contributors have stepped forward and made it possible to begin construction of a protective wall around the Action for Progress distribution center west of Lilongwe.
A minor break-in just after the warehouse was constructed took place, and Wilson Tembo, the Executive Director for Action for Progress turned to Tribal authority to deal with the problem. He was given assurance that the village chiefs and their staff members would keep watch over the property. With them protecting it the property has been secure for the past 6 years despite having millions of dollars in aid moving in and out of the property monthly.
